The triple spiral, also called the triskelion symbol, is an ancient Celtic symbol with many spiritual aspects to it. However, mother is definitely one of the strongest, as the branching out of the spirals is strongly indicative of the phases of womanhood: maiden, mother, and crone, all of which are connected.
This Mother’s Day has been unusual as we are all celebrating during a Global Pandemic. It forces us to be creative and enjoy this special (albeit forced) time to spend with our loved ones. In my case, this is my 9-year old daughter. We have now served under “stay at home” protocol orders in California for the past 10 weeks. She is my shadow, my greatest accomplishment and the reason for today’s celebration.
In honor of this special day, we are going to participate in a chakra cleansing sound bath (yes she agreed after I bribed her with $10 of Roblox credits). I’m including some traditional ancient healing instruments with the Bodhran, Irish lyre, Celtic chimes, Tin whistle, Galway Crystal bell and Tibetan sound bowl.
